Each pair of young people from our different schools chose different experiences that they wanted to share with their peers, and spent some time reflecting on their cultural experiences and on the responsibility of spending the micro-grant.

Read on to hear from a student from Manchester Academy about a group of 8 students visiting different galleries in London:

How did you spend your money?

We spent the money given by creating an unforgettable trip to London. We went to Trafalgar square, Tate Modern Gallery, The Photographers Gallery, Big Ben and Buckingham Palace.  Eight students from Photography and Art got to go on this trip.

Why did you choose to do this activity?

We chose to go to London because it would be a new and unique place for the rest of the students. It was also a great place to take photographs since London is filled with popular and gorgeous architecture, as well as being a great place to calm down from school and enjoying the view.

What area of leadership did your activity cover?

Our activity covered creativity, health and wellbeing and communication.

What did you enjoy about the activity?

I enjoyed exploring new areas of London that I had never seen before.

How has your experience as Creative Leaders helped you make decisions leading to this activity?

Creative Leaders helped me specifically in the skill of teamwork. This helped me, my peer and our teacher to give our ideas and find similarities on activities we liked. This is how we all agreed to the London trip as it covered all of our desires on being educational and fun at the same time.

“This Creative Leaders activity was so useful and helped me learn new skills like leadership and creativity.” - Year 10 Pupil
